The New York Jets Will Spoil Someone’s Season

New York Jets QB Zach Wilson NFL

While 2023 hasn’t gone as the New York Jets have planned, there’s still plenty to look forward to. Despite being 2-3 on the season, most teams above them in the AFC are 3-2 meaning they’re only 1 game back on a playoff spot. There’s a lot to be said for that despite the up-and-down play of Zach Wilson. Despite his struggles, the Jets have been competitive in these games.

Unfortunately, that is the problem. No matter how good the Jets look, the Jekyll and Hyde of Wilson will hold the Jets back. No matter how close they keep these games, the indecisiveness of their young QB will control their season. They will always be a quarterback away until Zach can start making the big plays without overthinking.

More NFL: Jets Aren’t Finished Without Rodgers

The good news is, the New York Jets have a ton of potential so they’ll keep the season interesting. They might not be strong enough to be a playoff contender, but they will certainly pull off a few upsets against teams that will be. Take a look at their games so far:

In week 1 they upset the division leader of the past few seasons, and division rival Buffalo Bills. A sloppy game against the Dallas Cowboys took them off that high. The game against the Patriots was equally as bad, but a last-second Hail Mary almost landed in the Jets’ favor to beat the Pats, even though they’re just as bad.

No matter what anyone says, the Jets were robbed against the Kansas City Chiefs. Why would a ref wait until the play finished to throw a flag. Either it was a penalty or not. You don’t wait to see if it is intercepted to throw a flag which is a whole different story on how rigged the NFL is.

Yet, the argument still remains. The New York Jets are trouble. Zach Wilson might be struggling. He might also be great. The truth of the matter is, no matter how he plays, the Jets are still competing. They’re holding their own in sloppy games against pretenders and contenders alike. If they ever figure out how to get Zach Wilson out of his own way, the Jets could be trouble.
