Suits

Out of nowhere, Suits is become a phenomenon, all over again. Maybe I’m just showing my bias but I do miss one of the best shows ever. Thanks to Netflix and the Writers/Actors Strike, Suits is getting a second life. And rightfully so. But what made Suits so appealing is that it had everything you wanted in a show.

If you’re looking for the ultimate underdog story, then look no further than Mike Ross. This was a guy who was down on his luck and just happened to run into a chance meeting with one of the top lawyers in New York City.

Who Is Mike Ross On Suits

Mike was special due to his photographic memory which he and Harvey Specter used to their advantage. Mike was not a lawyer but he put in the work to become one. He paid dearly for his decisions but how could you not root for a guy who could be your next-door neighbor making something of himself?

What about Harvey Specter? Harvey was everything you expected a high-level lawyer to be. He was smug, and straight to the point but most of all, he had a heart of gold once that wall was broken down. He was used to getting things his way and he thrived in that role. Besides Mike, you wanted so badly to root for Harvey to come out on top.

Did Meghan Markle Star In Suits

If you’re looking for romance then we’re two that would have you reaching for tissues or screaming at the TV. Mike and Rachel Zane played by Meghan Markle were endgame dating back to the first time they laid eyes on each other. Throughout Suits’ run, they were the second act failing only behind Mike’s journey. They’re were some stumbling blocks along the way but that’s expected in a great romance. In the end, they found their way.

Did Harvey And Donna Get Married

Then there was Harvey and Donna. They were everything that Rachel and Mike were not. One minute you wanted them together and the next, you told yourself it was better if they went their separate ways. Well, the writers did not see it that way and by the end of the series, they made it official.

If you wanted a redemption story, there was Louis Litt. For the first 3-4 seasons, Louis was the in-office villain. He clashed with everyone and he had it out for Mike in the worst way imaginable. However, Louis became a friend. All he wanted was to be acknowledged by Harvey and Jessica and it even came to a point where he defended Mike. Louis was once the most hated character on Suits who then became one of the most beloved.

Then you have Jessica Pearson. She was aloof, all business, and never panicked until she learned the truth about Mike. Viewers didn’t know how to judge her. We understood her anger but this was Mike we’re talking about. He did so much for the Firm that we didn’t understand why Jessica was ready to throw him to the wolves. But then she did a complete 180 and took one for the team. She gave her up law license to protect everyone, Mike included. Jessica was the epitome of sacrificing for the greater good.

Then you have the bromance between Mike and Harvey. It started out as a joke but the joke turned to mentor and mentee then to a friendship that grew into a brotherhood. Their classic quips made the Suits funny but in the end, they had each other’s backs even when they didn’t or weren’t supposed to. To prove how strong their bond was, Harvey gave it all up to go help Mike and Rachel in Seattle.

To see Suits getting somewhat of a rebirth shouldn’t be a surprise. For a show that ended in 2019, it’s hard to imagine that it took this long for everyone to finally catch on. Fans are now asking for a Season 10 but there will not be another season of Suits. Instead, there will be a spinoff of sorts with a new cast. It had a great run and despite losing key characters along the way, the show never lost its luster.
