Philadelphia Flyers: Samuel Morin Must Produce Strong Camp To Make Team

Samuel Morin

According to Benjamin Gabrych of Broad Street Buzz, Samuel Morin of the Philadelphia Flyers must have a strong Training Camp to make the team this season.

The Flyers, coming off a disappointing 37-37-8 season missed the playoffs and one would think, they will need all the help they can get. However, on the defensive front, the Flyers are stacked which in turn could put the 2013 First Round pick out of a job in Philly.

Last season, Morin spent most of the year recovering from the knee injury. He would make his way back in February in a stint with the Lehigh Valley Phantoms.

Samuel Morin made his Flyers debut on March 27th in a game against the Toronto Maple Leafs. He registered 8:09 minutes of ice-time. He finished the year pointless in five games. However, if he has a strong Camp, Morin could be in line for more time. But he does have competition.

According to Gabrych, he himself would have a hard time choosing between Morin and Robert Hagg, citing;

As far as who I would choose, I’d much rather take the unknown and upside in Morin over Hagg, though camp performances could sway my opinion. I think Hagg could warrant more in a trade return, too, as he could give other NHL teams a younger, possibly cheaper option on the blue-line

Either way this goes, the Phialdela Flyers should enjoy watching this battler take place. To get back to the playoffs, this type of competition will be great for the players and the team as a whole.
