NFL: Biggest Disappointments Through Week 13

New England Patriots QB Mac Jones

Now that the NFL is 75% over, there is plenty of season to look back upon and pick apart. Plenty of teams have had a chance to make the list but only the absolute letdowns made the list:

New England Patriots:

Oh, how the mighty have fallen in today’s NFL. There are rumors that Bill Belichick is on the way out. There’s the absolute mishandling of the quarterback position. Lastly, when did you last witness a New England Patriots team lose 10 games in a single season? The Pats are in complete disarray as they had a 3 game stretch allowing 10 points scored and still lost the game. That hadn’t happened in the modern era of the NFL. That is how much the New England Patriots miss Tom Brady.

Tennessee Titans:

It’s almost as if we’re in the post-Derrick Henry era. The Titans haven’t had above-average QB play in years but still made it to the playoffs. Now they’re sitting at the bottom of their division looking up. They’re not quite at the top of the NFL draft, but they’re getting there with just 3 wins. Their window is obviously closed and it may be time to break it all down and build fresh around Will Levis.

Pittsburgh Steelers:

Mike Tomlin has never had a losing season as an NFL head coach, but he’s getting pretty close this year. Not only are the Steelers struggling, they’ve lost to bad teams. They fired OC Matt Canada after an abysmal offense never scratched the surface of their potential. They lost 24-10 against a struggling Cardinals team and as of writing this before the Sunday week 14 games, just lost on Thursday Night Football to a 2-win Patriot team. It’s a bad time to be a Steelers fan when even the Cleveland Browns are outperforming you. The Browns might have as many wins but one less loss and are 40+ ahead in the points for column. This isn’t the same powerhouse Steelers team fans are used to on offense or on defense.

Carolina Panthers:

Better yet, the entire NFC South. There isn’t a winning record in the bunch. The Falcons lead the division with a 6-6 record but can’t figure out how to utilize the talent they have. The Bucs miss Tom Brady almost as much as the Patriots. The Saints can’t make up their mind about who wants to actually win the starting job or if they have a QB who will even be on the roster next season. Then the Panthers show they’re still barely out of being an expansion team. All that isn’t out of the ordinary as out of all the divisions in the NFL, the NFC South probably sends teams to the playoffs with a losing record the most.

Every team has had their down years, but this year is exceptionally bad for some of these teams that were supposed to be competitors this NFL season
