Hip-Hop: Even If Eminem Doesn’t Respond To Game, He Already Won

The Game Diss Track

I don’t know who in his camp told the Game to go after Eminem. I mean the old movie line “pick the biggest guy in the yard ..” and he did. If you’re going to do that though, make sure you land that knockout punch. It would be one thing if The Game came out with that diss track and absolutely called out Eminem in a manner that got everyone’s attention, but as far as diss tracks go this was probably one of the weakest. Plenty of rappers have come after the one they call Slim Shady and are met with fury. Too bad for Game, Eminem doesn’t even have to put down a track to prove he won.

Go on these message boards or socials lately. Everyone is dying for Eminem to respond. Whether they can’t wait for it to happen, or are trying to coax him on a response, people can’t wait to hear that track. Nobody, and I mean nobody, asked for a diss track from The Game, especially calling out the best-selling rapper of all-time when he hasn’t even cracked the top 10. This isn’t even a diss on him either, he can rap and has put down some great tracks. If it came to street cred, he’s got that for days. He’s goes with his verses, but this track missed the mark.

The Game starts off the track “I don’t think they know, who they f-kin with.”, but he’s the one starting this beef, or desperately trying to. The song goes on for just over 10 minutes and tries to mock Eminem using his own style against him, but fails. That’s another L. One of the reasons people love a Shady diss track isn’t just how hard he goes after whoever, but he’ll take their exact style, throw it back in their face, and out-rhyme them while doing so. The Black Slim Shady doesn’t come off as a diss track like that, while he does go after Eminem, it sounds more like an homage to him the way he copies his style.

The Game has gone on to say he respects Em and his music but that’s where the problem is. The exact same scenario happened not too long ago with Machine Gun Kelly. These artists come out, say they loved his music growing up then they hit success themselves. As soon as their career hits a stalemate days, weeks, or years down the road they start thinking about how to revive it. Either that or they try to elevate it while proving they still had what made them hot. Well if MGK can get Eminem’s attention, and The Game is better than MGK, why not let him call out the Rap God artist.

Well, because Eminem doesn’t have to put out a single rhyme to win this battle. He’s already living rent free in The Game’s head. He wants Eminem to respond so bad because he feels like he has something to prove. If at almost 50 years old, die-hard hip-hop fans are waiting for your response and talking more about it, than the guy who just dissed you on a 10-minute track, you won. No matter the trophies, awards, or sales if people anticipate your response from the edge of their seat, it’s over.
